In and around Meran

Where the Mediterranean embraces the Alps

Just a stone's throw from the beautiful Meran Spa

The way of life in Meran and the surrounding villages is every bit as varied as the Alpine-Mediterranean climate.

Lana is on the other side of the Adige Valley, opposite Burgstall so to speak. Our neighbour town is like our big sister, and blends all the joys of a rural location with a vibrant, mini-urban heart. Lana is a wonderful destination for those in the know and active guests: it is also the set-off point for popular cycling routes and hiking areas, such as on the car-free Vigiljoch mountain or in the adjacent Ulten Valley. A leap over to the other side is well worth the effort!

The Empress Sissi was a great fan of Meran. The elegant, stylish flair of days gone by can still be felt to this day as you take a stroll along the promenade. The narrow alleyways of the arcades welcome you in as you enjoy a leisurely stroll and a browse through the small boutiques and shops. And as you enjoy your ice cream on the spa promenade, you can enjoy a fabulous view of the Texel Group, the historic Kurhaus and the Meran Spa. A cool breeze blows Along the Passer River, and as you head towards the winter promenade you also come closer to the Tappeinerweg path. Mediterranean plants and fabulous flower façades take even our “long-established South Tyrolean” breath away. High along the Tappeinerweg to the “Pulverturm” Powder Tower the view opens out bit by beautiful bit, and the Wow! moment comes when you’re up on high. But that’s enough for now; you have to see it for yourself!
